First Female Superhero Miss Fury Out in New Book

Comic creator and historian Trina Robbins mentioned on her blog recently that she will soon be releasing a book about Tarpe Mills’ (June Tarpe Mills’) character Miss Fury, the first major female superhero created and drawn by a woman, featured as a newspaper strip from 1941 to 1952. The 229-page book, Tarpe Mills and Miss Fury, collects the complete run of Miss Fury Sunday pages from 1944 to 1949, when the strip was at its peak.
